Doctoral Training Centres
Doctoral Training Centres In 2006, the University became home to the first Doctoral Training Centre (DTC) to be established in direct collaboration with an industry partner. Since then, the University has won substantial awards from the UK Research Councils (RCUK) to support the training and research of the next generation of elite scientists, social scientists and engineers through our portfolio of Doctoral Training Centres.
Doctoral Training Centres offer a 4 year PhD programme which combines compulsory and optional taught modules with a PhD research project, which in some cases is based in industry. Students are organised into cohorts and work within highly-skilled multi-disciplinary teams.
