The University will be holding a number of 'Energy Days' throughout the month of June that contribute towards EU Sustainable Energy Week 2017.

Choose from a series of events with themes including: energy storage, circular economy, corporate social responsibility, energy transitions and an opportunity to tour the University of Nottingham's renowned Creative Energy Homes.

EU Sustainable Energy Week Programme:

  • Sustainability Forum (Monday 19 June, 8-10am, Innovation Park) - This event, run in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, will look at the benefits of moving to a circular economy and future energy market trends. Register here.
  • Fuel Poverty and Sustainability in Nottingham (Tuesday 20 June, 12:30-1:30pm, Room A100 Law & Social Sciences) - Luke Jackson will outline the problem and how Nottingham City Council aims to alleviate fuel poverty and improve sustainability through its energy projects programme. Registration not required.
  • Energy Storage Afternoon Tea with Academic Surgeries (Tuesday 20 June, 1:30-4pm, Innovation Park) - University of Nottingham academics specialising in the Energy Storage field will give details of their latest research. Register here.
  • Brexit and Energy (Tuesday 20 June, 5:15-6:30pm, Room C17 Pope Building) - In this GeoEnergy Research Centre lecture, Dr Derek Taylor (formerly energy advisor to the European Commission) will explore potential outcomes. Register here.
  • The Transition of Energy Systems: can the developing world leap-frog the fossil economy? (Wednesday 21 June, 5:15-7pm, C18 Pope Building) - This lecture will explore how energy systems emerge, become dominant and then fade and will look at our future energy and climate change ambitions.   • Building Better Business (Thursday 22 June, 9:30am-4pm, Innovation Park) - This workshop, facilitated by Ingenuity and the Energy Innovation & Collaboration team, will look at issues around Corporate Social Responsibility and how they can improve business, in a series of 3 facilitated workshop sessions.   • Sustainable Construction: Energy, Air and Efficiency (Friday 23 June, 7:30-10am, Innovation Park) - Find out how the design and construction process will create a sustainable home for future energy research. Register here.
