In October 2023, the University of Nottingham, jointly with the University and College Union (UCU) Branch, launched the Casual Engagement Principles to govern the use of casual workers at the University.
Casual Engagement Principles
If you have a role which you believe could be filled using a casual assignment, then please read the principles in full prior to commencing any work to ensure that a casual engagement is the right contract type.
The guidance on these pages refers to casual worker assignments processed through Human Resources. All requests to hire students as casual workers should go through UniTemps and the Casual Engagement Principles will still apply.
