Schemes and Plans

We currently offer a health cash plan to help you budget for medical costs or a voluntary Private Medical insurance to cover you and your family. These are arranged through independent brokers authorized by the University. Please see the Employee Hub for more details

For cash plans, contact Westfield Health. Applications should be made online using the code DPXJ and cover can be paid directly from your salary. Alternatively, contact the helpline on 0845 602 1629.

Employee Assistance Programme
 

The Employee Assistance Programme provides 24/7 free and confidential advice, 365 days of the year, and is available to all University staff through our provider Care First. This is a professional service manned by qualified professionals who you can talk to in private about anything that is bothering you, whether it’s personal or to do with work. This could include domestic or family issues, consumer rights, bereavement, bullying or financial and debt support, Up to 6 free face-to-face counselling sessions per year are available. Counselling Service
 

The Counselling Service is a free service offering confidential, professional help with personal, emotional or mental health problems.

 
The University of Nottingham Health Service - NHS
 

The University's Health Service is based in Cripps Health Centre, which also contains a dental practice, occupational health and a Boots pharmacy. For more information on the services offered and how to register, go to The University of Nottingham Health Service webpage. 

 
Dental Practice
 

The University has a dental surgery on University Park campus, providing a wide range of dental services.

 
Eyesight Tests
 

We have teamed up with Boots opticians to offer free eyesight tests for users of display screen equipment.

 
Harrassment Advisers
 

We are committed to maintaining an environment where harassment is unacceptable. Trained volunteers are available for staff to provide confidential support and assistance to anybody who is concerned about bullying or harassment.

 
Mediation
 

Mediation is a useful way of resolving workplace conflict informally. We have professionally trained staff mediators who are able to help you work through any problems.

 
Occupational Health Service
 

The University of Nottingham's Occupational Health Provider is Industrial Diagnostics Company, known as IDC, a leading UK provider of health surveillance and statutory health surveillance services. Occupational Health provide independent specialist medical advice to employers and employees on the relationship between work and health, e.g. managing medical conditions to remain at work, return to work or managing a disability.

 

 

Sick Pay Scheme
