Biography
I completed my PhD at the University of Leeds under the supervision of Steven French. Prior to that, I did a Masters in Philosophy at the University of Nottingham, and an undergraduate degree in Mathematics & Philosophy at the University of Glasgow. I lectured at the University of Leeds for 6 years before joining Nottingham in 2023.
Expertise Summary
I primarily work in metaphysics and the philosophy of science. I'm particularly interested in questions which lie at the intersection of these areas: How should we modify mainstream philosophical positions to accommodate the findings of contemporary science? How can we interpret our leading scientific theories? Is the world governed by laws of nature? What other ways might the world have been? What is it for something to be scientifically explicable?
