Department of Theology and Religious Studies

New undergraduate degree courses for September 2014

The Department of Theology and Religious Studies has recently announced the introduction of three new BA degree courses. Joining the existing Theology BA will be:

  • Biblical Studies and Theology BA
This course allows you to discover a range of historical and contemporary approaches to the Bible and the ways in which it affects individuals and faith communities, as well as on wider philosophical, social and political discussion.

  • Religion, Culture and Ethics BA
Religious studies is an vital tool for understanding today's diverse and complex world while ethics helps us comprehend conceptions of what constitutes human flourishing. Culture mediates between the two and this unique degree allows you to examine how art and literature can themselves be ways of envisioning the Good and showing us how to live.

  • Religion, Philosophy and Ethics BA
This degree draws on the combined expertise of the Department of Theology and Religious Studies and the Department of Philosophy to offer the broadest humanities education, which is also of the utmost relevance to the contemporary world.

These three courses will be available for entry in September 2014 and full course details will be available shortly. For further information see the course details or contact undergraduate admissions tutor Peter Watts.
