Biography

I joined the University of Nottingham as a part-time PhD student in Feb-20, and am researching Acts 15 and the Jerusalem Council. I love this area of research as it brings together three areas that I've been fascinated with for quite a few years now, namely, the use of the OT in the NT, OT law, and restoration of Israel.

I completed my undergraduate B.Th in theology in 2010, through Kings Evangelical Divinity School, accredited through the University of Lampeter. My B.Th had a particular emphasis on biblical hermeneutics. My MA explored global evangelicalism, exploring its explicit and implicit sociocultural and sociopolitical effects, in Brazil, China and Africa. I completed my MA in 2012, accredited through the University of Chester.

I have been involved with Kings Evangelical Divinity School (KEDS) since 2013, as an associate tutor in theology, for their on-line courses. Currently I am a tutor at KEDS for a level four 20-credit module (Synoptic Gospels), and a module from their non-accredited Know Your Bible course, (Biblical Prophecy). In addition to the tutorial work, my role has also included dealing with APCL/APEL, academic malpractice and student admissions, during this time.

I am also owner/director for two companies. I founded Focus Driver Training in 2003, and in 2011 incorporated the business as a Private Limited Company. The scope of activities/services includes fleet training, commercial vehicle licence acquisition, Driver CPC for LGV drivers, and external transport manager services for operators who need an ETM for their operator licence.

I was attracted to this career due to the flexibility it offers, which has enabled me to pursue my theological study, in addition to many other interests, e.g. building trade skills such as carpentry, basic plumbing, plastering. My other company is a web design and development company, which I set up in 2019.

Current Research

I am researching the use of Amos 9:10-11 as cited in Acts 15:16-18, and its contextual role regarding the nature of the restoration of Israel. Currently I am looking at how the question of Gentile circumcision highlights the larger tension between law and grace, the relationship between Jewish believers and Gentile believers, and the nature and scope of OT prophecies, and their fulfillment. So far, I am investigating Halakhic/non-Halakhic interpretations of Acts 15, and have also investigated Pauline chronology in Acts and Galatians, to lay the groundwork for my main research topic.
