Biography

I joined the department in September 2022, having previously taught Christian doctrine at Sarum College, Salisbury. Prior to that I studied theology at the University of Cambridge, from which I took my doctorate in 2021. My thesis, titled 'A Theological exploration of the shape of life and death in conversation with the biographical works of Gregory of Nyssa', probed the ethical and anthropological implications of Gregory's 'doctrine' of epektasis.

Expertise Summary

My specialism lies in Christian theology, with an especial interest in constructive reception of theological sources. My current research focuses on Christian eco-theologies. I am particularly interested in reading the environmentalism of John Ruskin theologically and interrogating the theological significance of wonder. I am also interested in theological readings of architecture, and theology and the arts more broadly.
