Experiences of women working in STEM academia in the UK and China

This postgraduate research project aims to explore the experiences of women working in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) departments of higher education institutions (HEIs) in the UK and China, and how these experiences affect women’s feelings of belonging and future ambitions in STEM academia.

It will also look at whether and, if so, how women’s experiences in STEM academia are affected by the socio-cultural context of the institution in which they work.
