Felicity Rose

School of Pharmacy, Anne McLaren Fellowship

Felicity secured a lectureship in the School of Pharmacy and, in 2008, was promoted to Associate Professor. She has secured over £8m of research funding, and has published more than 25 peer-reviewed papers in high impact journals. Felicity has been a member of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Peer Review College and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) Pool of Experts, and is the UK representative on the Biomedicine and Molecular Biosciences Domain Committee (BMBS DC) of the European Co-operation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research (COST) funding body. 

In 2005, Felicity was awarded the ‘exceptional winner (staff category)’ in the Higher Education Active Communities Awards for communication of science to children. She is the School co-ordinator for the Athena Swan Award, which recognises and celebrates good employment practice for women working in science, engineering and technology (SET) in higher education and research.

Felicity cites the support she received from senior female professors as key to her academic success.
