Classics student wins Robert Markus Prize for best MA dissertation

We are thrilled to announce that Jason Porter of the Department of Classics has been awarded the Robert Markus Prize for the 2013/14 academic year, for his dissertation The System of Apophora Payments in Classical and Hellenistic Athens: A More Positive Experience of Slavery? supervised by Professor Stephen Hodkinson.

The Robert Markus prize is given each academic year for the best MA dissertation in the Humanities based in the period of the late Professor Robert Markus’s main interest, prior to c.1000 AD.
