Edward Goodwin wins 'best all-rounder' personal tutor award

We are delighted to announce that Edward Goodwin has won University Staff Oscar for 2014 as the Best All Rounder in the Category for Personal Tutors. The Oscars are a student-led event organised by the Education Network of the Students’ Union. For the 2014 Competition, over 400 nominations were received over the 14 categories.

Edward was presented with the award at a formal awards ceremony held in the Senate Chamber and Great Hall of the Trent Building at the University of Nottingham on 3rd April. In the citation from the nominating students and the Student Union, Edward received the following praise for his role as personal tutor:

"Edward Goodwin has been a constant support for his students, enthusiastically trying to resolve any University issues that arise. From making workloads more manageable and providing perspective, to offering careers advice and interview tips, Edward's assistance has been truly invaluable...Edward's dedication to his students is evidenced by his active endeavours to maintain his personal tutor role even when his students are studying in other countries - something that is greatly appreciated by those students. Edward is truly deserving of this award for best all-round personal tutor and represents the high quality we hope all personal tutors strive for."

Head of School Professor Stephen Bailey and Director of Undergraduate Programmes Professor Peter Cartwright said, "Ed thoroughly deserves this recognition for the exceptional support he provides to his personal tutees. Many congratulations to him for this outstanding achievement."
