Law student in Young People of the Year Awards

Second year Law student Hazel Lo is in the Young People of the Year Competition after staying in the UK to volunteer with disadvantaged children over the summer holidays.

Hazel came to Nottingham from her home country of Malaysia last September to begin her Law degree. She had the opportunity to return to Malaysia to see her family during the summer holidays but decided to stay in  the UK to do voluntary work for children's charity CCHF All About Kids. She was responsible for a supporting a group of children at a summer camp, helping them with activities such as craft-making, swimming, and raft-building. She also helped 20 children to get home to Birmingham after they were stranded with nobody to collect them.

Voting has now ended on the Young People of the Year Awards and the winner will be announced later this month. On behalf of the whole School of Law, good luck to Hazel!
