Professor Paul Roberts appointed to the Standing Review Board of the Hong Kong Research Grants Council

In recognition of his expertise and international reputation in criminal justice research, Professor Paul Roberts, Professor of Criminal Jurisprudence in the School of Law, has been appointed to the Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC)’s Humanities and Social Sciences Panel Standing Review Board.

Established in 1991, the RGC is the principal public funding body in Hong Kong to support academic research. It receives some 800 research proposals in the area of humanities and social sciences annually, from scholars working in Hong Kong’s eight publicly-funded universities. As a non-local member of the Standing Review Board, Professor Roberts will participate in the peer review of grant proposals in his areas of expertise, which encompass comparative criminal evidence and procedure, forensic science, human rights in criminal process, and empirical research methodologies.
