PhD student Richard Watkins receives Postgraduate Prize at Award Ceremony

Richard Watkins

The School of Law wishes many congratulations to third year PhD student, Richard Watkins, who received the Dean Moore Award at the University's Tri-Campus Postgraduate Prize Award Ceremony last week.

Richard was nominated for a Postgraduate Prize by the School of Law, in recognition of his contribution to the school's postgraduate community and for his academic achievement. As part of the nomination statement, Richard's supervisors, Professor David Fraser and Dr Marko Milanovic, commented:

"Richard's thesis focuses on the rights of soldiers against their own country, for example British soldiers who died in Iraq due to bad equipment of friendly fire. It is original and of contemporary relevance. Richard has also been instrumental in raising and helping to resolve student issues and has been pro-active in developing and facilitating the implementation of several initiatives to this end. We are delighted to be his supervisors."

Many congratulations Richard!
