School of Law students Judge Marshalling at Nottingham Crown Court

This January, 12 students from the School of Law were lucky enough to enjoy a judge marshalling opportunity at Nottingham Crown Court. Chris Bevan, who organizes the annual Marshalling Scheme noted:

"Judge Marshalling is always a much sought-after experience and, through the Marshalling Scheme, I am able to open up this amazing opportunity to students at the School of Law. Enormous thanks must, of course, go to the Nottingham Crown Court for hosting us again this year."

What of the students taking part? Here are just a few extracts from the feedback received:

"Marshalling a Judge was a new experience for me. Having been on the other side of the bar twice in mini-pupillages, it was a great experience. I spent the first five minutes sat at the Bench grinning inanely and gazing around the courtroom. I can only thank everyone involved a thousand times over for giving me the opportunity to see the world from that position."

"I chose to apply for marshalling as I wanted to broaden my legal experience and understood how rare and unique an opportunity it was. Indeed, it was an incredible experience which I will always remember."
