We use a range of equipment and will select the best approach to protecting the object whilst achieving the desired result.
In addition to flatbed scanners and specialist book supports and weights, the Heritage Digitisation Service uses the following equipment:
High resolution copy photography using a medium-format camera
Overhead book scanner with adjustable cradle
Preservation book cradle designed for digitising fragile books and bound volumes
Conservation studio
