The University of Nottingham is combining its expertise with world-class Swedish institution Lund University to collaborate on four research projects.

The projects bring together research expertise and specialist research facilities at both universities, including Lund’s MAX-IV facility, the most advanced synchrotron radiation facility ever built and part of the massive European research infrastructure.

Spanning areas in chemistry, physics and psychology, the research collaboration will take the form of staff and postgraduate visits, and specialist equipment purchase. The projects draw on long-established and strong links with key industries in Sweden and the UK, and they will prepare the ground for large-scale applications for external funding under Horizon 2020, the EU’s biggest research and innovation programme.
