Deposits for taught postgraduate courses

This message only applies to non-EEA nationality, overseas applicants starting a full time taught postgraduate course (MA, MSc, PG Dip, PGCert etc.).

If you are an international student who will require a visa to study in the UK and you have applied for either a one-year foundation programme or a one-year full time postgraduate taught masters degree course at The University of Nottingham in the 2016/17 academic year, you will be required to pay a tuition fee deposit of at least £2,000 as part of the process for preparing your Tier 4 student visa application.

The tuition fee deposit of £2,000 must be paid when you firmly accept an unconditional offer of a place on a course, before the course starts, in order to qualify for a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) to be issued. We cannot issue a CAS after the course start date.

For details please take a look at our deposits FAQs

Please note that all non EEA nationality or overseas applicants, who wish to defer starting a full time taught postgraduate course (MA, MSc, PG Dip, PGCert etc.), will be required to pay the £2,000 deposit before their deferral can be processed. Requests to defer must be made within three months of the original start date of the course.

CAS deposit waiver for sponsored students

The University will waive the deposit requirement for students who are fully sponsored by a recognised sponsor.

If you are fully sponsored for your course fees, you must submit a copy of your sponsorship letter in order for the deposit to be waived. Submit your sponsorship letter to sponsorship-assistant@nottingham.ac.uk

Please quote your full name and application ID number.

Please note that if a sponsorship letter is not received, you will be required to pay the deposit before a CAS can be issued (for unconditional offer holders).

The University will only accept sponsorship letters from recognised sponsors (overseas governments, international businesses, universities, trusts and charities etc) and not from friends/family members. For any questions relating to your sponsorship and deposit requirements, please contact: sponsorship-assistant@nottingham.ac.uk
