April

The extenuating circumstances procedure has been revised following discussions with colleagues and consideration by the Quality and Standards Committee.  It takes into account feedback received from colleagues in Schools and issues arising from academic appeals. Some references to specifically UK entities have been removed.   It now focuses equally on coursework and formal assessments and includes specific guidance on the possible outcomes of acceptable claims of extenuating circumstances. The spirit is largely unchanged, but the wording has changed significantly.
