We are delighted to share the news that the BLISTER study, a randomised controlled trial which compared doxycycline with prednisolone as an initial treatment strategy for bullous pemphigoid, has been published in The Lancet.
The research showed that doxycycline has an acceptable level of effectiveness and has a considerably better long-term safety profile compared to oral prednisolone.
