Description

Ian Crockatt (University of Aberdeen) will give a talk entitled 'The Alchemical Moment - transformation in the translation of 12th Century Old Norse Skaldic Poetry'. The talk will focus on the processes involved in making 21st century English language equivalents of Rognvaldr Kali Kolsson's verse.

Ian is a published poet and his 2009 chapbook Skald (Koo Press) gives a taste of his lively approach to this complex genre. This special Norse and Viking Seminar is organised in cooperation with the Creative Writing programme at Nottingham.

The seminar is free of charge and open to all, but we would appreciate it if you could RSVP on the School of English Studies RSVP Form.
