Biography

Sandra Smith has been Research Assistant at the NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre since December 2009, using the skills she has developed throughout her career to support researchers. Working across several research projects, one of Sandra's main roles is to build up a database of potential participants for hearing research studies. She also carries out testing when required and has contributed to several research papers.

Sandra started her career in research and development in the area of osteoarthritis research. She then moved into regulatory affairs and from that into clinical research and drug development, working as a principal technician in a phase one clinical trials unit. She has worked for several leading pharmaceutical companies.

Expertise Summary

Sandra has extensive experience of communicating with members of the public in writing, on the telephone or via e-mail; she has experience of qualitative analysis, systematic Reviews and database management. Sandra also has wide experience of phase one clinical trials and drug development.
