Safety Signs

There are specific regulations covering the provision of safety signs in the workplace (The Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996). Using the correct colour coding and symbol is important for universal understanding, see the following examples:

University Schools and Departments must display safety signs in line with the above colour coding; safety signs may be one of the control measures used to mitigate risk. However, it should be noted that safety signs on their own, are rarely an adequate control measure and are not a substitute for implementing safe systems of work or engineering controls.

There are a number of companies that can provide both standard safety signs and bespoke as required.
