Our role at the Technology Transfer office is to commercialise technologies which have been developed through research. We do this in a number of ways:
-
Licensing the use of our technologies to a third party
-
Utilising joint ventures to develop technology further
-
Investing in spin-out companies which frequently retain close links to the university
Technology Transfer
Industry Links
Our strong links to industry and investors provide us with invaluable market knowledge and experience, which our highly professional team of Intellectual Property (IP) specialists use to commercialise University research.
The intellectual property from potentially commercial research is protected through the Technology Transfer Office. We also ensure that early-stage technologies are taken to a level where commercialisation becomes an economically viable option.
We were able to attract venture capital through our link with the University as well as through the commercial potential of the product. Furthermore, the transferring of the Intellectual Property from the University to Monica Healthcare allowed the commercialisation of this project to be moved forward effectively and dynamically.
