University of Nottingham Sport acknowledged by leading University organisation CUBO

 
University of Nottingham Sport have been recognised at a leading industry awards ceremony this week, celebrating the best innovations and initiatives in Higher Education commercial and campus services.   

The department took home the award for Best Residence Life Experience at the 2023 College & University Business Officers (CUBO) Awards Dinner on Thursday 6 July, hosted at the University of Glasgow. 

The accolade acknowledge sector-leading work in encouraging the campus community to stay active and improve wellbeing, as well as incorporating an innovative approach to using competitive sporting fixtures to discuss key issues faced by students.  

The Best Residence Life Experience award recognises the growing importance of residence life and activities designed to support students living away from home at UK Universities. 

University of Nottingham Sport was chosen for the introduction of the Sports, Health & Wellbeing Package (Active Living). Delivered in partnership with the University of Nottingham and UoN Residential Experience, this programme successfully fostered a sense of belonging and increasing engagement in physical activity with regular events. 

Dan Tilley, Director of Sport at the University of Nottingham, commented;  

“We would like to thank CUBO and their judging panel for their recognition - we are incredibly proud of these achievements and are honoured. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff, students and volunteers who support everything that we do. We look forward to continuing to develop our offering to engage all students on our campuses with positive sporting experiences.”  

University of Nottingham Sport were also nominated for CUBO’s Best Marketing Campaign award that highlights outstanding campaigns that show delivery against objectives and UoN Sport were selected amongst the nominees for our Movember Mental Health campaign. University of Nottingham ‘s student-athletes teamed up to show their support for men’s mental health on campus and at the same time, raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for the Movember charity, alongside the department implementing digital initiatives to raise awareness.
