#GreenerandGold UoN Sport - 2023 Professional Services Awards

The last few years have seen many changes in operational and strategic practice to support a greener future, from moving to LED lighting in performance spaces, to providing compostable bags for ice and lost property bags, the team have shown that sustainable changes can be implemented without impacting performance. Better still, performance sport can continue to thrive and excel whilst improving the sporting opportunities for those around them.

So far, our sustainability team have helped to:

  • donated over 600 pairs of trainers to the ‘JOG ON’ initiative, who repurpose footwear otherwise bound for landfill
  • collaborate with the David Ross Educational Trust, donating over 50 items to their schools, such as rugby balls and boxing equipment, ensuring the next generation of students can continue to engage in sport
  • update our Moves App rewards so you can now select our new ocean bottles, and even choose to plant trees across the world

You can find out more about the team and how you can contribute in creating a more sustainable campus by clicking here. Congratulations to the our #GreenerandGold team!

The three categories that we were also nominated for recognised the work of our Club Development team in continuing to provide high levels of support to our 70+ different sports clubs providing sporting activities for both performance and participation members, our major sports events team after the most successful year for the University in terms of hosting major sporting events on campus, and our aquatics team for the continual development of the programme and offering the highest quality programme with regard to both in pool experience and teaching outcomes.

We would like to conrgatulate everyone associated with University of Nottingham Sport on being shortlisted for the 2023 Professional Services Awards and a thank you for your continued work to deliver a top-class sporting experience on campus.
