Hawley Square is an inter-disciplinary project between artists connected to the Kent Institute of Art and Design and geographers/surveyors from the University of Nottingham's School of Geography and Institute of Engineering Surveying and Space Geodesy (IESSG).

The aim of the project is to investigate models for the representation of the urban, Hawley Square, Margate being the focus for the work. Five themes of representation surveying, networks, 3D model, function, landcover, shared by artists and geographers/surveyors formed the focus of investigation by the participants, working either individually or collaboratively.

The work produced was exhibited at the Community Pharmacy Gallery, Margate in December 2001 and distributed as a CD.
