Project overview

One of the DTI Faraday Centres, FIRST brought together academics and practitioners to foster relevant research and knowledge transfer activities. Nottingham developed the Site Characterisation Calculator
(SC2) - a site investigation design decision support tool that has been well received by consultants and regulators who took part in a beta evaluation. We are now looking for further funding to develop a web based prototype. Nottingham also developed a unique set of remediation technology courses for FIRST - these 10 day long sessions provided a technology specialist's introduction to the most widely used remediation technologies in the UK.

FIRST transmuted to IPM-Net - a DTI knowledge transfer network in 2006.
Paul Nathanail represents Nottingham on the IPM Net steering committee.
