Collingwood (1985) noted it is a pale, rather shining species with very short propodeal spines; and occurs on the fringes of the North African deserts - the colour according to Santschi, however, is black, a little brownish (as confirmed by the type specimen below), or for saharensis, red with the gaster brown.
