Biography
Betul Babayigit is a postdoctoral researcher in 'A UK-Ireland Investigation into The Statistical Evidence-Base Underpinning Adult Learning and Education Policy-Making' conducted collaboratively by the University of Glasgow and the University of Nottingham. She earned her BA in English Language Teaching from the Middle East Technical University in 2012 and has since pursued a successful academic career in the field of Curriculum and Instruction. In 2022, she earned her Doctorate degree from Anadolu University. With a primary research focus on social justice in education, lifelong learning, adult education, and improving public education by strengthening educators and students for the 21st century, she possesses a wealth of knowledge and expertise in curriculum theory, development, and evaluation. She has been actively involved in numerous qualitative and mixed-methods research projects since 2014. In recognition of her academic efforts, she was awarded a fellowship by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) in 2020. Additionally, she has published several articles in refereed academic journals and presented her work at various international conferences. Currently, she is focusing her efforts on the study of adult education policies and practices, along with explaining participation trends with the social, economical and political changes in the UK context.
