Biography
Having studied Education and Sociology at the University of Keele, I moved on to complete a PGCE in general primary Education at the University of Cambridge. I completed an MEd in Second language education at Cambridge whilst working as a Primary school teacher. As I teacher, I worked mainly in KS2 and lead EAL (English as an additional language, Science, and Maths. Alongside side my doctorate, I tutor, provide resource consultation and am an accredited Professional Development lead affiliated with East Midlands West Maths Hub.

Current Research
How do teachers use languages structures, as discursive objects, to mediate Mathematical communication about multiplicative structures in multilingual primary classrooms? A commognitive Perspective. My research is situated in the belief communication and cognition are iterative and that those who contribute to mathematical discourse are called 'Mathematists'. I am particularly interested in primary school teacher's roles as mediators of mathematics, in particular multiplicative thinking, and how stem sentences feature in their mediation using Anna Sfard's Commognition as a theoretical lens in which to anaylse obseravational data.
Past Research
My past research has considered the extent to which multiple intelligence theory features in the classroom, children's perceptions of intelligence, vocabulary acquisition, and multiplicative reasoning.
A common theme of my research journey is the construction of valuable teacher knowledge, and how this enacts equity in the primary classroom, particularly for children for whom English is an additional language.
