M.Eng (K230) Course Director, Assistant Professor in Architecture, Faculty of Engineering
Alisdair Russell is a Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham Department of Architecture and Built Environment. He is a RIBA Chartered Architect and studied Architecture at the University of Nottingham (RIBA 1 -3).
Alisdair has taught at the University since 2002, his teaching commenced whilst still a student on the Part 2 course, and his teaching has been predominantly focused on Part 1 Design Studio where his students have received numerous publications and awards including a commendation for the prestigious RIBA Bronze Medal in 2015.
Alisdair is also an experienced practitioner having also been Director/Managing Director of local practice since 2006, delivering projects at all scales ranging from the domestic scale through to International Company Headquarters . Following many years of highly enjoyable and rewarding teaching at the University Alisdair joined us full time in January 2017 as Assistant Professor where his role will be focused on the ongoing development and co-ordination of BArch Course/studio teaching and teaching on the MArch course, specific interests are in Urban Design and Mass Housing Projects.
