Biography
2023 - current Nottingham Anne McLaren Fellow (PI), University of Nottingham
2019 - 2023 Research Associate in Gas Purification Technologies, University of Cambridge
2018 - 2019 Development Engineer at Gas Recovery and Recycle Limited, visiting researcher at the University of Cambridge
2014 - 2018 PhD in Engineering, University of Cambridge
Dr Zheng joined the University of Nottingham as an Anne McLaren Fellow in 2023, where her group is investigating novel approaches (e.g. integrated plasma-catalysis and chemical looping) to generating carbon-free fuels (e.g. ammonia, hydrogen) with low cost and emissions. Her research extends to addressing the direct removal of gaseous emissions (e.g. CO2, CO, CH4) from diverse industrial processes, such as steel manufacturing and silicon wafer production.
Prior to joining Nottingham, Dr Zheng completed her PhD and postdoc research at the University of Cambridge, where she worked with Prof Stuart A. Scott in various EPSRC and Innovate UK projects on hydrogen production, carbon capture and gas purification. She has also supervised/co-supervised numerous Mphil and PhD projects working on hydrogen production, gas separation, and combustion.
