Spin-out companies

Our spin-out companies are breaking new ground. Creating a spin-out (UK) company allows us to commercialise intellectual property created from our research. This is another way of ensuring that our research can solve real world challenges and have a positive impact on society, the environment and economy.

We’ve established 12 spin-out companies from our research including one exit spin-out company – Monica Healthcare Ltd. These companies are leading the charge for a net zero future, evolving our approach to manufacturing, and revolutionising the way we provide medical care.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

We’ve completed 72 Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) worth over £10 million. Partnering with SMEs and large businesses, both locally and nationally, we’ve worked across sectors including manufacturing, renewable energy, aerospace, and construction.

By collaborating and sharing our expertise we’re helping businesses to innovate – whether it’s increasing productivity through improved operations, developing new products, or accessing new markets.
