Biography
Dr. Mostafa Ahmadi Darmani is a Research Fellow in Electrical Machines at the University of Nottingham and an accomplished educator and researcher in electrical engineering, with a specialization in electrical machines, power electronics, and magnetic materials. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin, where he pioneered advanced methodologies for the multiphysics design of interior permanent magnet machines and the innovative characterization of magnetic materials.
His research centres on the design, modelling, and optimization of electrical machines, with a strong focus on high-efficiency solutions for renewable energy and sustainable transportation. His areas of expertise include high-frequency machine analysis, advanced materials for energy conversion, and numerical modelling of magnetic actuators.
Throughout his career, he has played a role in European Union-funded projects such as ORCHESTRA, IMOTHEP, and HECATE, where he has led research initiatives on electrical machines and magnetic components within power electronic systems. His prolific publication record includes numerous papers in high-impact journals and presentations at major international conferences.
A committed member of the academic community, he serves as a reviewer for multiple IEEE Transactions, international journals, and conferences, contributing his expertise to the advancement of the field.
