Biography

Cahyani obtained her medical degree and board certification in Paediatrics and Paediatric Nephrology from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia. She joined a leading Department of Child Health, Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, the national referral hospital in Indonesia, as medical and academic staff. Cahyani was awarded a fellowship for training in Paediatric Nephrology at the National University Hospital (NUH), Singapore (2014), and in Dialysis and Kidney Transplantation at the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) and Queensland Children's Hospital (QCH), Brisbane, Australia (2022).

She worked within a team of Paediatric Nephrologists to set up the first Paediatric Dialysis Unit in Indonesia and the first Paediatric Kidney Transplantation program, functioning as a national service in Indonesia. Her specific interests are in paediatric dialysis, interventional nephrology, and kidney transplantation.

Research Summary

Cahyani's PhD project focuses on the isolation and characterization of urine extracellular vesicles from healthy individuals and paediatric patients with kidney transplant.
