Senior Technician, Faculty of Science
Markella is a senior technician in translational bone regenerative medicine at Dixon's lab in the School of Pharmacy.
She earned her MSc in Tissue Engineering for Regenerative Medicine from the University of Manchester, where her research investigated the effects of circadian rhythm disruption on the degenerating intervertebral disc. Her BSc in Biomedical Science, completed at the University of Sheffield, focused on optimizing differentiation protocols for cancer stem cells. Markella's research interests include stem cells, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and aging.
