Albion House offers self-catered accommodation situated in the heart of Beeston town centre and close to a range of supermarkets and local amenities. Located a stone’s throw away from University Park Campus and less than a 20-minute walk from West Entrance, it makes for an ideal location for study and leisure. Albion House is home to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, with quieter living flats available upon request. Exciting plans are currently underway for a new, modern Albion social space to be unveiled ahead of September 2024. Each flat has 7 bedrooms which includes a vanity unit, 2 shared bathroom facilities and a recently refurbished kitchen.

Your Residential Experience Team (ResX) is available 7 days a week, from the day you arrive, until the day you leave, to support you to settle and thrive in your new home, and the fantastic community that you will belong to as a student at the University of Nottingham.

Accommodation options

Albion House has a thriving community of over 160 students. There are two blocks which are divided between undergraduate and postgraduate students, surrounding a central outdoor courtyard area.

Beeston town centre has lots of excellent local amenities including a cinema, restaurants, bars, cafés and local shops which are perfect for socialising and meeting up with friends.

Travel is easy from Albion House, with excellent transport links in and around the city centre, by bus or tram. The residence also benefits from a nearby train station meaning that travelling back home is never too far away! Parking is available at this hall and is free of charge.

Location of Albion House

Albion House is located in Beeston which is approximately a 20-minute walk from University Park Campus. Beeston has great amenities with good transport links to the city centre, all 3 university campuses and Nottingham train station. The bus and tram stops are a short five-minute walk from Albion House.

Important information

Contract details

To finalise your offer you will be required to read and accept a licence/tenancy agreement and terms and conditions from your accommodation provider UPP Broadgate Park.

We highly recommend that you read this along with a parent, guardian, carer, or school representative, as this is a legally binding document.

You will be accepting liability for the full tenancy length of 44 weeks a year for undergraduates, or 51 weeks a year for postgraduates, including vacation periods. Once you have moved in you are liable to pay for the duration of your licence period.

The University will take payments only and are not legally able to influence contractual issues. 

Payment information

Your first payment is due prior to arrival and should be paid via the NottinghamHub (University of Nottingham Student Hub). Undergraduate students who are reliant on a Student Finance England maintenance loan to pay their accommodation fees will be able to make a minimum payment of £250 payment plus £250 damage deposit prior to arrival. The £250 minimum payment will then be deducted from your first period instalment with the balance due on 7 October 2024.

Student maintenance loans and grants are paid to you directly by the Student Loans Company into your bank account (as per the details you have provided them). The Student Loans Company will provide you with a Payment Timetable so that you know what amount you will receive into your bank account each term.

If you will require a payment plan because you wish to amend your instalments to three equal amounts or you are self-funding and wish to pay by monthly instalment, you will need to email Student Account Services on sas@nottingham.ac.uk

Student route visa applications

Students who are reliant upon securing a Student route visa should not make any payment for their accommodation until the visa has been granted. If a visa has not been secured by the first payment date, please email Student Account Services on sas@nottingham.ac.uk

Is bedding provided in the self-catered sites?

You will need to bring your own bedding and covers or pre order a bedding pack with your provider.

What security is provided on the self-catered sites?

With 24-hour security and secure sites we make sure your environment is safe and secure.

How often are UPP sites communal areas cleaned?

UPP sites (Albion House, Cloister House, Broadgate Park) communal areas are cleaned weekly including kitchens and bathrooms in communal standard flats (en-suite and studio bathrooms/studio kitchens are not included). 

What is the parking charge for Albion House?

Parking at Albion House is free of charge
