Contract details
To finalise your offer you will be required to read and accept a licence/tenancy agreement and terms and conditions from your accommodation provider Study Inn. We highly recommend that you read this along with a parent, guardian, carer, or school representative, as this is a legally binding document. You will be accepting liability for the full tenancy length of 44 or 51 weeks a year including vacation periods. Once you have moved in you are liable to pay for the duration of your licence period.
Payment information
The deadline for term one payment will be detailed in your accommodation offer and is due before your contract starts. Study Inn does not require a damage deposit or guarantor. If you will require a payment plan, are dependant upon Student Loan Funding, or have not secured your visa, you will be able to discuss arrangements direct with your accommodation provider.
Student route visa applications
Students who are reliant upon securing a Student route visa should not make any payment for their accommodation until the visa has been granted. If a visa has not been secured by the first payment date, please contact your provider to request a deferred payment date.
How much is the deposit at Talbot Street?
We do not require any damage deposit. An advanced rent payment of £200 is required prior the 1st of August in order to secure the room, this amount goes towards the total rent for the academic year. From the 1st of August, please contact the Reservations team directly to find out the accurate advanced rent amount to pay (will vary per room type).
When and How student must pay to secure a room at Talbot Street?
When: The payment must be completed as soon as possible so student doesn’t miss out on availability. Early payments give higher probability of students being allocated according to their preferences.
How: We offer a range of payments: Debit/Credit card through the Student Portal or with Centre Manager at Reception (Mon – Fri between 9:00am and 4:30pm); UK or International bank transfer through the Student Portal or directly to our bank account, Direct Debit, Cash option is available only if student collects a paying slip from reception and go directly to the bank to deposit the money;
Do you have internet? Is this free? What’s the speed?
Yes, we have complimentary Wi-Fi provided by Glide throughout all of our residences. Our Wi-Fi speed is up to 1GB download and upload.
Are all the bills included in the rent?
Yes, all utility bills are included in the rent with exception of TV License & use of Laundry room. All studios and en-suite rooms feature a smart TV. Students will need to purchase a TV license separately if they are planning on watching any live TV. TV license is not required for the TV’s in the shared areas such as kitchen/lounge or entertainment area
Can student share room with their partner/friend?
We can accommodate double occupancy in our studio rooms, as long as both occupants are full time students over 18 years old. Please note that some of our room types are subject to a dual occupancy surcharge. Double occupancy is not available for en-suite serviced apartments.
What if student doesn’t get the grades to get into university?
Our cancellation would cover if student doesn’t receive the required grades to get into university, as long as they inform us no later than 14 days before the agreement is due to start.
What if student chooses a different university after getting their results in August?
If student chooses to attend a different university, this wouldn’t be covered by our cancellation policy. If there is less than 19 weeks until the agreement starts, student will be liable until a replacement student is found to take over the agreement.
What does free cancellation mean?
If student cancels booking in writing more than 19 weeks prior to the start of your agreement, they can cancel without any penalty and receive a refund of the £200 advance rent payment. Please note that if student cancels booking with less than 19 weeks until the agreement starts, they would be liable for the agreement unless a replacement student is found.
Student receives maintenance loan from student finance, can they pay when they receive loan?
We have a payment plan which is tailored to students who receive a maintenance loan from Student Finance, however we still require rent to be payable in advance.
Can student choose specific room?
We can make a note of any preferences student has, however, please keep in mind that preferences are subject to availability when student books and are on a first come, first served basis.
Do you have car parking on-site?
Unfortunately, we do not have on-site parking however our residences are ideally located with ample public parking nearby.
Is housekeeping service free? How often is the service?
Housekeeping service is complimentary for all residents. This takes place on a fortnightly basis.
Do you have spa facilities and is it free?
Yes, spa facilities are located on site and are complimentary to use for all residents.
Is there a washing machine in the room?
Although the rooms do not have washing machines, we have a laundry room on site (charges apply).
What’s included in the kitchen and bedding pack?
We provide a fully equipped kitchen and bedding essential, such as bathroom towels, bed sheets, duvet and pillows. For a detailed list please contact Reservations team.
Can student have visitors stay over?
Guests can have 1 guest stay overnight for a maximum of 14 nights in a month. Please note the visitor must be over 18 years old and must always stay with the guest. They need to use the logbook at reception, so we know who’s in/out the building.
Do you allow pets?
Unfortunately, pets are not permitted within our residences.
