Last autumn we asked for your opinion on the support we offer in our second annual alumni survey. Thousands of you across our global community answered, sharing your thoughts about what you would like your alumni community to offer you. Here's what you said.

Survey-1200

You rated our alumni activities, communications and support more highly this year (average 3.26 in 2020). It's great we're moving in the right direction! But while we're doing OK, we know there is lots of room for us to improve and offer you more services that you find exciting, interesting, relevant and inspiring.

We asked you where you currently live. More than 5100 of you responded from over 120 countries across the world. We know that our community is truly global and we're working hard to continue to develop opportunities that you can benefit from wherever you are based in a way that works best for you.

We know that many of you are at different stages in your career. That's why one of the principles of our alumni programme is to offer a range of opportunities that are relevant for you and your journey, whether you want to build your skills while you're not working, about to start your first graduate job, in a senior leadership position or about to establish your own business.

Last spring we launched our new alumni experience Connected we thrive, based on your feedback, to bring you opportunities to grow professionally and personally. While some of you told us that you have noticed a change of style in our communications and activities since we launched our new programme, many of you are yet to take part and benefit from what your alumni community can offer you.

This year we'll be rolling out even more new activities for you to take part in under our Connected we thrive programme, but in the meantime you can catch up on our activity so far:

Most of you told us that your priority this year is to work on both your professional and personal goals. Connected we thrive is designed to help you do exactly that, providing you with opportunities and experiences to enable you to thrive in your professional and personal life. New activities we'll be launching this year include masterclasses to help you pursue your personal goals and seminars and courses to help you grow your professional skills.

We asked you when you would be most likely to engage with content from us. Most of you said that you prefer to interact with us outside of your working hours. We'll keep developing our programme to bring you flexible opportunities that enable you to get the most out of your alumni experience.

We're always keen to hear ideas from you about what you'd like to see us offer in your alumni programme. As we develop our activities under Connected we thrive, we'll work hard to bring in even more of the opportunities that you want from your university.

70% of you told us that you had recommended Nottingham to someone who considering higher education, with a further 17% open to advocating for Nottingham in the future. If you know someone who is thinking about studying at Nottingham, our study with us pages are the best place to start.

More of you told us that you feel strongly connected to your university this year (51% in 2020). We're so pleased that you still feel that Nottingham is a part of your life! But some of you told us that you don't feel a strong connection to us.

As your alumni team, we're here to help you make the most of your connection to Nottingham and your fellow alumni in our global community. Whether you're looking for professional skills and insights or personal motivation and inspiration, we can continue to fuel your learning and help you grow who and what you know. Find out more about Connected we thrive and look out for more opportunities to help you connect to and benefit from your alumni community coming soon.
