On 25 January 2018, Dr Rob Lambert (History and Business) chaired the first ever Nottingham Youth Question Time on the subject of ‘Environment’ in the Ball Room, Council House, Old Market Square.
Nottingham schools sent more than 150 children to the event, which was also attended by the Lord Mayor, county environmental NGOs, conservationists, campaigners, community scientists, council employees, writers and poets. Rob chaired this event in his capacity as Vice-President of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust and co-founder of A Focus on Nature (AFON), the youth conservation network in the UK.
The event launched the Trust’s ‘Nottingham for Nature’ campaign across the city, promoting a youth environmental engagement agenda to improve the state of nature within the city of Nottingham. Nottingham for Nature seeks innovative ideas to help protect urban nature and grow thriving ‘wildscapes’ within the city. It also challenges key thinkers and interest groups in power to hear the concerns and voices of young people in Nottingham, as they plan infrastructure developments.

As well as serving as Vice-President of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, Dr Lambert was also recently appointed Community Ambassador for Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife Trust at their annual general meeting in Oadby, November 2017.
