This one-day workshop will bring together scholars from the Europe, Asia and North America to discuss cultural production and intellectual debates in Japanese-occupied China. Papers will cover topics as diverse as painting, photography, poetry, print media, music and ideologies. A draft programme and a poster for the event are attached.
The workshop is being jointly organised by Dr Jeremy Taylor (University of Nottingham) and Professor Zhiyi Yang (Goethe University Frankfurt), and is supported by the European Research Council-funded 'Cultures of Occupation in 20th Century Asia' Project at the University of Nottingham.
Everyone is welcome but places are limited. Please register for a place at the workshop.
