On 7 May, Martin Thorley received a certificate for his contribution to teaching at the University of Nottingham Tri-Campus Post-Graduate Prize Awards 2019. The awards recognise excellence in teaching by University of Nottingham postgraduate research students.

Martin received certification as a "highly commended" contributor to teaching and learning. The judges recognised Martin's use of technology to set in-seminar rapid research exercises.
