Executive Education delivers the Digital Transformation Programme

In response to the rapid change of technology and the pressing need for innovation in the public sector, our Executive Education team recently delivered a Digital Leadership and Innovation Programme to senior public sector leaders from different departments within the Malaysian government. The aim at of the programme was to equip those leaders to drive meaningful transformation within their departments.

About the Digital Leadership and Innovation Programme

The programme was designed to address the challenges posed by fast-paced technological advancements and the increasing demand for innovative public services. It focused on key areas such as strategic leadership, digital ethics and responsible governance, digital strategy, change management, innovation and agility, supply chain and project management, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies. Participants gained essential tools and methodologies necessary for leading effective transformation.

Dr Wafaa Ahmed, co-lead for the programme, said:

"It was a privilege to deliver the Digital Transformation Executive Education programme in collaboration with esteemed colleagues to a group of dynamic public sector officials from Malaysia. The participants brought a wealth of expertise and an inspiring commitment to driving digital transformation in their respective sectors.

"My sessions covered a range of prominent topics, including emerging technologies, their capabilities, and critical governance considerations. Participants were actively engaged and applied the concepts to address contemporary challenges in Malaysia. The final group project enabled them to craft a detailed digital transformation strategy for a problem of their choice with a real potential for impactful change. Their insightful presentations reflected both deep engagement and innovative thinking.

"The university's new facilities at Castle Meadow Campus provided an ideal environment for collaborative learning and focused discussions. This programme also offered a valuable opportunity to bridge our cutting-edge research with the needs of external policymakers, fostering a productive exchange of knowledge and ideas."

The programme reflects the commitment of the Executive Education team to support organisations and their leaders in adopting forward-thinking strategies, ensuring they are well-prepared to harness new technologies for the benefit of their organisations.

Through interactive sessions and hands-on learning, attendees explored frameworks that enable them to:

  • align digital strategies with organisational goals
  • implement change seamlessly
  • create a culture of innovation within their departments
  • leverage and integrate data and learn how technologies, platforms and ecosystems boost growth and innovation.

The programme offered practical solutions to real-world challenges, emphasising their value for navigating the complexities of digital transformation.

"We're delighted to have recently completed delivery of a custom Executive Education programme for Malaysian Government officials. The programme bought together 12 leading academics and three partner organisations to deliver industry and research led content. Delivered from the new Executive Education suite at Castle Meadow Campus, the programme provided interesting conversions within the group and the delivery teams, and included case studies, group discussions and a group project."
