Professor Meryem Duygun awarded Vice-Chancellor's Medal 2024
Professor Meryem Duygun, FAcSS, Aviva Chair in Risk and Insurance at Nottingham University Business School has been awarded the prestigious Vice-Chancellor’s Medal in recognition of her impactful contributions to academia and industry collaborations.
Her innovative cluster-based strategic model has transformed standards within the Finance, Risk, and Banking (FRB) department and set new benchmarks for excellence across the Business School.
Meryem founded the University of Nottingham’s Fintech Research Network in 2018, which paved the way for the establishment of the Inclusive Financial Technology Hub (INFINITY), a key initiative driving advancements in financial technology and inclusion.
Meryem said of her award:
“This recognition means a lot and is not just a personal achievement but a reflection of the incredible support from my colleagues in the INFINITY and FRB departments, students, industry partners, and the entire university community. I am grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to make a difference and contribute to our shared passion for education and research. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey with me.

The medal was presented during a celebration in the Trent Building on the University Park campus on Thursday 14 November 2024, alongside other inspirational staff and students who have made invaluable contributions to university life.
