Students celebrate presenting entrepreneurship projects
The Entrepreneurship Project module on our MSc Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Management course enables students to act as consultants, addressing real-life challenges. This year we had 11 participating start-ups and companies which assigned projects to groups of students. These local and global businesses present diverse challenges aimed at expanding and increasing visibility in competitive markets. Over three months, students collaborate to gather market and stakeholder data, and analyse and create comprehensive reports, with recommendations based on their findings.
Throughout the module, students work closely with the academic team and Professors of Practice at the Haydn Green Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The skills they acquire are essential for becoming competent and confident entrepreneurs, enhancing their employability.
At a final event on Tuesday 7 May, all students presented their reports in a poster format, with some participating businesses, the academic team and business school staff. The event was led by Dr Sahattaya (Pai) Achtzehn (Assistant Professor in Inclusive Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Innovation) and Fiona Frost (Teaching Assistant and Doctoral Researcher).

The Entrepreneurship Project is a unique, challenging and rewarding module for both students and the module convener. Students enter the module with varying levels of business knowledge and experience and learn how to professionally build relationships, and negotiate and manage expectations with participating businesses. They tackle ad-hoc problems and devise creative methods to entrepreneurially collect market and stakeholder data. This module is critical and highly customised, requiring students to apply everything they have learnt from the course and their past experiences to solve business problems.
