Clare obtained her Ph.D from the University of Nottingham in 2010 and prior to this post, she held lecturing positions at Keele and Westminster Universities. Clare is an experienced teacher, having taught a wide range of marketing related subjects that include Consumer Behaviour, Services Marketing, Marketing Communications, and both International and Tourism Marketing. She has also supervised numerous undergraduate and post graduate dissertations on related topics. Prior to joining Higher Education Clare worked in various sectors of the tourism industry (1986-2004) both in the UK and overseas (Greece, Turkey, and during travels in Australia and New Zealand).

Areas of Expertise
Consumer behaviour, customer experience evaluations, evaluative identities, customer emotion management, narratives and atrocity tales.

Research interests include the enhancement of teaching and learning and the student experience. They also include the process of customer evaluations of experience, the social sharing of experience, and the social construction of experience evaluations.
