Dr Pattanapong Tiwasing (Pat or Oak) is an Assistant Professor in Sustainable Innovation at the Haydn Green Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Newcastle University. Prior to this position, Pattanapong was a Lecturer in Data Analytics and Economics at Keele University and worked as a Researcher in Rural Enterprise at Scotland's Rural College (SRUC). He also held roles as a Research Fellow and Data Analyst at the Centre for Business in Society (CBiS), Coventry University and as a Research Associate in Rural Enterprise at the Centre for Rural Economy (CRE), Newcastle University.

Pattanapong's research focuses on various areas, including rural enterprise, rural innovation, small business economics, SME productivity, the economics of digitalisation and innovation, agricultural and food economics, food security, agricultural sustainability (both sustainable production and consumption), and edible insects as food and feed. With over seven years of research experience, he has successfully secured funding from numerous national and international organisations, including Newton Fund Institutional Links, Innovate UK, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the Department for Business and Trade, ESRC Productivity Insights Network, the Scottish Government, and the Thai Government.

Currently, Pattanapong serves as an Associate Editor (Quantitative Studies) for the International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Additionally, he previously served as a grant reviewer for the British Council (Newton Fund) from 2018 to 2020. He is also open to PhD applications and expanding his research networks.
