Pia Weiss received her MSc in Economics in 1996 from the University of Konstanz. In the same year she joined the Institute for Economic Policy Research at the University of Cologne to start her PhD, which she received in 1999. Pia Weiss continued to work at the Institute for Economic Policy Research until she received the Lise-Meitner-Habilitation-Fellowship in 2001. She joined the IESE Business School as a visiting researcher till 2002. In 2003, Pia Weiss became Lecturer at the Chemnitz University of Technology. She received her Habilitation in 2008. After accepting the post of a visiting professor in the Fall term of 2008/09 she joined the Nottingham University Business School in 2009.
